Fix gold formula in CLAUDE.md (kills × 2.5, not × 2)
Also note all gold multiplier sources in the formula description.
The repository is a browser survivor shooter, and the file is the one a model reads before it touches anything. On a Sunday in March a session working from the cloud wrote ninety-five lines into that file: six systems documented for the first time, enemy counts corrected to twenty-six across four categories, the execution order rewritten to match what the scene actually does, two scenes that had been missing. Among the lines was a formula for the gold a run pays out. One minute later, the same session, a second commit of one line: the kill term was wrong, and the list of multipliers was short.
What the author understood is in the body. The first version had restated the code and got it wrong inside the minute, so the correction does not just fix the digit; it goes back to the code and lists every multiplier it finds there, four of them, victory and the gold upgrade and world level and win streak. The code at that commit has a comment above the function that says exactly that: total equals base times those four. The second commit is the first commit done properly, copying from the source instead of from memory.
What it missed is in the verb. The fix is still a copy. A formula written into a document is a claim about the code on the day it was written, and this one was complete for six days. The following Saturday a commit titled “polish” added a floor of fifty gold so that no run pays nothing, and a newcomer multiplier for a player’s first runs. At the end of May a run-level multiplier arrived, from ship and stage and pacts. In June an achievement bonus and an ascension multiplier, when the function was made pure and given eleven parameters. In June, too, the whole architecture section was moved verbatim out of the instruction file into a reference document, because the file had grown to more than twice the cap on what a model is handed every time. The formula line moved with it. It still lists four multipliers over the base.
The subject line is still true: kills are still worth two and a half. The body’s promise, all gold multiplier sources, held for six days and has been short by four for months, and nothing reads the line against the function, because a sentence in a reference document is not a test. The rule this workspace wrote later, for exactly this, is point, don’t copy: a document carries a pointer to the thing that owns a value, or the command that prints it, never the value. The commit was a good copy. Copying is the right verb for a minute and the wrong one for a repository.
